The AIRG Achievement Recognistion will be awarded at AIRG National Meetings each year, to a current industrial research manager, researcher and/or group of researchers making the most outstanding Australasian industrial research management and or industrial research contribution during the previous year (or in recent times).

There will be one award at the AIRG Winter Meeting, to celebrate an outstanding technological achievement from a major Australasian Industry, and at the AIRG National Summer Meeting, an award will be presented to a similar achievement from  small-to-medium enterprises (SME's) based in Australia or New Zealand.

AIRG's sister organisation, the Industrial Research Institute (IRI) presents a high profile award at its national meetings, and AIRG sees this as important in part of its role.

In August 2011, the AIRG presented its first Achievement Recognition Award. The winner of 2011, inaugural, AIRG Award was the Alcoa Technology Delivery Group, for innovation that uses naturally occurring microorganisms to oxalate. For more information, please see the AIRG Award Media Release.
