The
membership structure of the Australian Industrial Research
Group is,
Company
Representatives:
- This
group of members is composed of senior people responsible
for science-based innovation or R&D within an
eligible company
- Eligible
companies are defined by having a "demonstrable
business intent", in respect of an objective
of generating a profit to fund growth, as well as
operating with a Board of Directors structure.
- For
each company membership, two representatives who will
have full voting and other rights within AIRG are
allowed. The one membership fee covers both such representatives.
- The
membership fee structure for Company Representatives
is,
- Company
turnover <$10M, $500pa
- Company
turnover $10M - $50M, $1000
- Company
turnover $50M - $200M, $1500pa
- Company
turnover >$200M, $2000pa.
- Some
larger companies with separate divisions are interested
in more than two representatives. Additional members
can be added by the payment of an additional fee,
but these members – known as Company Alternates -
will not have voting rights.
- Company
Alternates from member companies have an annual
fee of $750 or 50% of the company membership,
whichever is the lesser.

Affiliate
Members:
- These
members are representatives of public research agencies
and universities.
- Such
members have the majority of membership rights within
the organisation apart from accepting roles in the
executive committee positions, and having voting rights.
- The
annual fee for Affiliate Members is $1000.

Associate
Members:
- These
members are individuals who were previously Company
Representatives and who have left a full-time role
in business, to either retire or develop consulting
activities with a significant industry focus.
- Such
members have the majority of membership rights within
the organisation apart from accepting executive committee
positions and having voting rights.
- The
annual fee for Associate Members is $100.

Honorary
Members:
- These
members are selected by the Executive Committee on
the basis of outstanding service to the organisation.
