AIRG NATIONAL MEETING 2012

Technology Crossovers and Game Changers

Grange at Cleveland: Winery and Conference Centre
55 Shannons Road, Macedon Ranges, Lancefield VIC 3435

February 26-28, 2012

The 2012 National Meeting of the Australasian Industrial Research Group (AIRG) will review the situation for industrial R&D and Innovation in Australia and New Zealand and consider how best practices have been emerging to capture opportunities represented by technology crossovers (i.e., from one industry into another), or from the adoption of technology “game-changers” (including breakthrough technologies).

In this mode, the 2012 AIRG national meeting will build on findings from the 2011 AIRG Winter meeting during which the role of open innovation to facilitate the rapid acquisition of new technology or of appropriate external technology resources was examined.

With many of the AIRG’s member organizations operating in an increasingly resource constrained environment, the effective leveraging of technologies – from all sources, or across different industry sectors – is a significant opportunity for rapid, low cost new technology adoption.

In this light, the meeting will also include a discussion of how best to use Australasian national facilities to leverage internal capabilities.  A number of international industry representatives will be present to lead discussion in this topic.

The Grange winery and conference centre offers a highly interactive atmosphere.  There will be considerable opportunities for discussion and networking outside the formal program.  Registrants are welcome from all spheres of the management of research, technology and innovation.

Please note transport will be arranged with airport pick-up on Sunday 26, around 4.30pm, and airport drop off on Tuesday 28 February, departure from Conference Venue at 3pm.
